Jason Boyd Kinsella’s first exhibition in the Emirates was organized by the BASTOK LESSEL gallery in collaboration with ICD Brookfield Place. Through a unique scenography, the artist showcased a brand-new series of paintings and sculptures as he enters the digital paradigm with an adventurous affinity for the malleability of the self in the metamorphic fictions of appropriations and avatars.
He rethinks this opposition between reality and fiction as a bridge rather than a fracture. Kinsella moves the discussion from the uniqueness of individuals to the universality of mankind by rejecting the imperative of the readily identifiable in favor of a more elusive but no less determinate psychological recognition.
