Jason Boyd Kinsella Canadian, b. 1969

Born in Toronto, Canada, Jason Boyd Kinsella currently divides his time between Oslo and Los Angeles. After a career in advertising and a 30-year break, he went back to painting and focused on the exploration of human psyche through the use of colorful shapes based on the Myers-Briggs personality test. Through the process of allocating particular personality features of his fictitious characters into geometric units, the artist discovers a fresh and original way to represent human emotions and traits. Although Kinsella's method, which is based on the analysis and appreciation of form and colour, is similar to that of the Old Masters, his expansive depictions of human emotion are distinctly modern and intellectually alluring. His works joined prestigious international collections such as the Long Museum, China; the Crocker Museum, USA; Arsenal Contemporary Art, Canada; Nassima Landau Foundation, Israel; Azman Museum, Malaysia.
